UNDERSTANDING & ADDRESSING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, HUMAN TRAFFICKING, & SUICIDE
4 CE Course $100
As massage therapists, we can encounter a lot of different people and situations in our places of work. We may never come across anything major, or at least we hope we don't, however, what if we do? How do we handle the situation?
We are often the first one's who see the bruises, the abuse, and the struggle people are facing in their personal lives. We are the ones they open up to as well. What are the red flag signs or words we need to be looking and listening for? How do we create a safe space that people know they can find help and resources.
This course discusses how to understand and address these issues. When is it our duty to report, or when to stand down? What can we do and say when we are found in these situations?
We will take you through these individual topics and give you handouts for resources to keep in your place of work should you find yourself or a coworker in one of these situations. You will have a binder full of information on each subject to keep on hand for reference as well.
These subjects are heavy topics but very important to learn about and how to handle them should we encounter them. At the end of class, we will have a discussion that is unrelated to the topics of class that will most likely have us all laughing hard and leaving class with a lighter heart.
The handouts will be from your own state as this class is a LIVE CLASS ONLY. If I have LMTs come from a state that is not the state the class is being held in, I will get resources from their states as well.
